OUR VENUES

Joan B. Kroc Theatre

Twice a year all our students have the opportunity to perform in one of the best and most beautiful concert venues in San Diego - Joan B. Kroc Theatre. This concert is an exciting events for each participant including guest musicians, conductors and our audience. We would like to thank the Kroc Theatre manager Cathie Hyatt, stage manager Mark Russo and his crew, and house manager Priscilla Orosco for all help they provide to us while our young musicians are learning all rules and regulations of professional concert facility. Their support and patience are greatly valued and appreciated.

Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church

Once a year our Advanced orchestra performs a free concert for the East County communities at the Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church. The mutual interest between our establishments made LCPC our long time (9 years) partner. Every Spring since 2007, East County Youth Symphony is included in the LCPC music series and invited to perform in April-May in their beautiful sanctuary. Besides the opportunities to perform, LCPC also provides us a rehearsal space for ECYS small ensembles (as their fellowship hall is not big enough for the full orchestra). We would like to thank Robert Mentze (Pastor Bob) for all he does for East County music community.

"New Seasons" Church

Doctor Vines is one of the most special people in the history of the East County Youth Symphony. Our organization wouldn't exist without him. Back in 2006 when ECYS founders were looking for the suitable facility to start our first rehearsals, nobody seemed to be interested in providing a space to a new, unknown organization working with middle school and high school children. It didn't take more than a second for Doctor Vines to say: "...teaching children music is a wonderful thing! of course we can help, that's what we do here...", and "New Seasons" became our sweet home. Today, ECYS Advanced Orchestra still resides at the fellowship hall of "New Seasons" Church in Spring Valley. All our musicians, their families, ECYS Board and team of administrators, volunteers and instructors would like to thank Dr. Vines and the people of his church for providing us with rehearsal facilities since our inception in 2007.

All people and venues mentioned above play very important role in the well-being of the East County Youth Symphony, and are a huge part of our success along with all ECYS volunteers, supporters, patrons, donors and otherwise community partners. We can't thank all of them enough for their input. With their help and our hard work we are able to provide free comprehensive music training that is accessible to all children in East San Diego who are interested in music.
