AWARD SCHOLASGIPS TO OUR COLLEGE PLAYERS

Eighty eight percent of our Advanced Orchestra players are college students. With rising cost of life, tuition, and transportation these young musicians who come from different corners of Southern California need your help. To share their talent, skills, and passion for music with San Diego audiences they must eat and fuel their cars. The stipends ECYS donors award to these amazing college players gives them a chance to perform professional repertoire that they don't get to play in college and allows them to work side-by-side with mentors (professional musicians) who are guiding and teaching them on the spot. ECYS Advanced Orchestra performs every semester at the Joan B. Kroc Theater (6611 University Ave, SD).

DONATE TO OUR MUSIC INSTRUMENT FUND

East County Youth Symphony has implemented an Instrument Fund in order to purchase some of the more expensive, and less commonly played, symphony orchestra instruments for use by our students.

A medium quality oboe costs around $2750, a bassoon more than $6000. Not many families can afford to invest that type of money in an instrument their young musician may or may not decide to pursue.

The ECYS Instrument Fund is designed to provide the more expensive instruments for our students so they can determine their level of interest. It is a fund set aside solely for the purchase of music instruments. Your Donation can help us reach our goal of purchasing the following instruments in Spring , 2012.

HELP TO EXPAND OUR GENERAL FUND

ECYS General fund is designed to secure the following needs: insurance, printing, marketing, transportation of music instruments and equipment, instruments repair, cost of facilities, IT services, communication services, administrative services, fund-raising cost, and similar expenses.

FUND OUR PRE-ORCHESTRA DIVISION PROGRAM

Pre-Orchestra division is the largest and fastest growing program within ECYS structure. More and more families in area of our operation with young children are looking for free educational music programs that don't exist in a vast majority of local elementary schools. It is a fact that ECYS Pre-Orchestra Division is the only tuition free option for East San Diego children ages 7 to 9 to start playing string instrument. Unfortunately, last year we were not able to accept all interested students, and had to create a waiting list. More funds for the Pre-Orchestra Division is a must, and we will do everything possible to bring our funding to the level that allow us to accommodate the growth of this program in full.
