Help Young Musicians Thrive
Behind every successful rehearsal, every inspiring concert,
and every confident young performer is a community of caring
volunteers who make it all possible.
Whether you can give a few hours
during concert weekends or become involved throughout the season, your
time and talents help create opportunities that many children would never
have otherwise.
No musical experience is required. We welcome parents, students,
retirees, professionals, community members, and anyone who wants
to support the arts and encourage the next generation.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Student Supervisors
Help provide a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for young
musicians during rehearsals and performances. Student supervisors assist
with check-ins, backstage coordination, rehearsal support, and helping
students stay organized and prepared throughout events.
This role is perfect for caring adults who enjoy working with
children and teenagers in a positive educational environment.
Ushers and Audience Assistants
Our concerts would not be possible without friendly volunteers who
help welcome audience members and create a smooth concert experience.
Ushers assist with:
Greeting guests
Seating assistance
Program distribution
Audience guidance
Concert logistics
This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals who enjoy meeting people and being part of exciting live performances.
Greeters and Hospitality Volunteers
The first smile people see often sets the tone for the entire event.
Greeters help welcome families, donors, guest artists, and audience members while creating a warm and inviting atmosphere at rehearsals, fundraisers, and performances.
Hospitality volunteers may also assist with refreshments, reception tables, and special events.
Executive Director Assistants
Administrative volunteers provide valuable support behind the scenes and help keep the organization running smoothly throughout the season.
Responsibilities may include:
Office assistance
Email and phone support
Event coordination
Community outreach
Volunteer organization
Data entry and administrative projects
This opportunity is ideal for organized individuals who enjoy supporting nonprofit arts organizations in meaningful ways.
Fundraising Committee
As a tuition-free youth orchestra program, ECYS relies heavily on community
support and charitable giving.
Fundraising committee volunteers help strengthen the future of the organization
by assisting with:
Benefit concerts
Sponsorship outreach
Donor relations
Grant support
Silent auctions
Community fundraising campaigns
Event planning
Online Research
Volunteers with experience in nonprofit development, business, marketing,
or community networking are especially encouraged to participate,
but enthusiasm and dedication are equally valuable.
Board of Advisors
The ECYS Board of Advisors brings together respected community leaders,
educators, artists, professionals, and supporters who wish to help guide
and strengthen the organization’s long-term vision.
Board advisors may assist with:
Community partnerships
Strategic planning
Fundraising initiatives
Public advocacy
Educational outreach
Organizational development
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about
arts education and want to help shape the future of a growing
cultural organization.
Transportation Assistance
Some students and families face transportation challenges that can make
participation difficult. Volunteer drivers and transportation coordinators
help ensure that talented young musicians can attend rehearsals and performances
safely and consistently.
Transportation volunteers provide an invaluable service that directly impacts
student participation and accessibility.
Printing and Materials Support
Concert programs, posters, flyers, educational materials, and promotional
items all help ECYS share its mission with the community.
Volunteers and local business partners can assist with:
Printing services
Graphic materials
Concert programs
Posters and flyers
Copying and assembly
Marketing materials
In-kind support from local print shops and businesses is also deeply appreciated.
Why Volunteer With ECYS?
When you volunteer with ECYS, you become part of something larger than a
concert or rehearsal. You help create opportunities that inspire confidence,
creativity, discipline, and hope in young people.
You will see firsthand the excitement of students preparing for performances,
the pride of families watching their children succeed, and the extraordinary
impact that music education can have on a community.
Every volunteer contribution matters.
Every hour helps.
Every act of kindness supports a child’s future.
